Journey to the West

A quick sketch of Monkey from "Journey to the West". I'm considering doing a small side comic with this character.

Speaking of comic, I've picked "Unbroken Skies" back up now that I've finally settled in from my move to Atlanta, Georgia. I'm hoping to have much more content on "Unbroken Skies" available plus a finished comic by the end of the year. I'll have a much bigger post on the matter hopefully soon. Time to get those comic and storyboard engines started!

Uzumaki Naruto

It would seem that all of the artists I follow on instagram and twitter have been posting the most amazing artwork these past couple of days. The best I could come up with this week is a Naruto drawing. :-P

Honestly, it's extremely rare for me to draw any type of fanboy illustration for myself. That being said, I just couldn't help myself after watching the latest trailer for "Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Storm 3". The game looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome.

Beagle

Here's a beagle fighter pilot!

Curse you Flash!!!!!

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Adobe Flash. Most times I'm totally cool with the program. That being said, there are those times where the program gets the best of me. Sometimes I just have to sketch to vent my frustration.

This drawing was created in Flash and was prompted by an intense tug of war between me and the program.

Two Posts In One Day???...WOWIE!!!!

Often times at work, I'll take quick breaks from the projects I'm working on to do some personal drawings, whatever they may be. Real stream of conscious type stuff. I'll either search for an interesting reference to draw from on Google, or I'll just scribble something down. There's no agenda other than to make art. These drawings can unfold into editorial-type illustrations, cartoons or the beginnings of a short story. I like to do this so that my eyes stay fresh. It always helps to step away from a project for a moment, do something completely different and then come back to the previous project anew. You'll see things you never knew...you never knew....aaaaand I just referenced Disney's Pocahontas. Anyways, in doing these break time illustrated ruminations, I started thinking of ways to share these images. I'm a big fan of editorial illustrations and I thought it might be fun to have a blog that I could treat almost like a magazine! I am working on a sketchbook, so the book/magazine idea is stirring around in my brain. Here are a couple of break time drawings to kick things off!

So...I've finally decided to belly flop back into the blog-o-sphere.

Thought I'd let Bilbo welcome everyone to the new blog! I'm aiming for regular weekly posting. Keep checking back for updates! :-)
